What to Expect in Therapy:

My job as a therapist is to make you your own therapist as soon as possible. The number of sessions depends on your issue{s}, intensity and duration. Clients who have deeply-rooted issues from a difficult family background or who are experiencing panic attacks, depression, trauma, loss may find it beneficial to continue therapy for several months. Doing your homework consistently reduces the number of sessions.

I find clients who book weekly sessions for the first 4 to 6 weeks are more successful in gaining a deeper understanding of their issues and making positive change.

First sessions focus on getting to know you through your family-of-origin, identifying what you want to change and setting goals. As positive growth occurs and clients anchor those changes in their everyday life, the frequency of therapy sessions decreases.

My role as a therapist is to support, guide, encourage you and, when necessary, to provide you with helpful information.

Call today - 604-533-0845 - for a free 15-minute phone consultation. I am happy to answer any questions, discuss your issues and how I can help you find peace from your anxiety.

I look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Judith Barnard, MSW, RSW
